How to play

You start on one character and need to reach another. The characters around you are the ones you can hop to: each shares a word with where you are. Tap one to see the word that links you, then tap it again (or press Hop) to travel there. From 火 you could take 火车 (train) to 车, then 汽车 (car) to 汽.

Par is the fewest hops possible. After each hop you’ll see whether you got closer. Know a word that isn’t shown? Type it in and hop through it, as long as it’s in the dictionary. A hint picks out a character on the shortest route. The daily puzzle is the same for everyone and uses all words. Random puzzles let you limit the words to the HSK levels you know. When you finish, you can watch a par route to see the shortest way there.
